Jakarta Street as Shadow Exit Terminal

UKI Street prohibited from being a shadow terminal, now people seek for alternatives. Why they did not use formal terminal (bus station) ? This was a common problem for us, citizen of Jakarta. Jakarta known as a big city with largest population among cities in Indonesia. Around Jakarta there were satellite cities like Depok, Bekasi, Bogor, Bogor, Tangerang, Kerawang etcetra. Some workers at Jakarta come from those cities, blue collars or white collars workers. They commute periodically with privat or public vehicles. They need a comfort journey. Time is very important for them. This morning there are jus a fiew buses and fiew passenger's candidate along the street. But in the afternoon it will become a shadow terminal and no policemen there! If there were policemen, drivers obey the regulation and when the policemen take a rest, streets become a free place for every people


Rambutan Terminal located at a corner of East Jakarta. People prefer to get a bus outside of this terminal because:
  1. The security of terminal stil questionable. We still heared criminal cases conducted at terminal like pickpocket, hypnosis for crimes, thief, robbery, unfriendly street singers, unfriendly middlemen or "calo" and a lot of street trader. We still feel unsecure at the terminal.
  2. The Staff at terminal took retribution tarrif for passenger before entering the terminal. The tarrif higher than normal tarrif as regulated by local government. The Police, DLLAJR staff, Driver and his helper, alltogether work cooperatively for their destiny. We smelt a corruption weather here!. Homo Homini lupus
  3. The regulation of streets still changeable. We passengers always behave related with government roles.
