today we did an inauguration for teacher's students who did qualification upgrading through open distance and e learning at this private university. honestly it did well but not as good as expected by the role model of system. There were obstacles from two sides of us. Teachers (lectures) and students.
We the teachers had an older paradigm. Not ready to involve in a new system like this. They just care about face to face program. The agenda opened by a key speech from a bureaucrat, actually a director of Educator Qualification from Ministry of National Education. This guy is not so brilliant, just quoted some government data about teacher professionalism. So boring to heard an oration just tell about formal information from government. We do not need this, as a future teachers we need a lot of information about contexts of education here now and future.
yes they did. conventionally they teach by lecturing system, verbal system. Speak with a boring voices. So, when they challenged with internet based learning, they like soldiers unarmed by enemies. Nothing to do and nothing in their mind
ReplyDeleteThe lasting i said is the students. They were not purely study at a good system. Most of them came from SPG (High School for Teacher's Education) and upgrade their qualification to diploma II at Open University. Open University in Indonesia managed not so good. Some of them just hired lectures from primary, intermediate or high school. At the other side, the lectures come from civil servant from Local Educational Office
